On Thursday, Sergeant Chris Wade was dispatched to County Road 314 in Brookeland for a trespasser and theft in progress. When he arrived, he learned that the suspect had already left the scene walking and was carrying a green duffle bag.
At the time of the call, it was discovered that the suspect had taken a President Trump insulated drinking cup from the porch of the residence.
Sergeant Wade began to patrol the area and located the suspect walking on Hwy 96. Sergeant Wade made contact with the suspect and she was identified as 34-year-old Sarah Moore of Village Mills, Texas. She was found to still be in possession of the stolen cup. Moore was then checked for warrants. It was discovered that she was wanted by Jasper County for Motion to Revoke Probation, for Prohibited Substance in a Correctional Facility, and for Bail Jumping for Criminal Trespass.
Moore was placed under arrest and booked in on the warrants, Class C Theft of Property, and Class C Criminal Trespass.
Moore is innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
Sheriff Chuck Havard and his staff are committed to combating criminal activity in Jasper County.
