Wildfire on blueberry farm in Kirbyville

Multiple fire calls hit all at once in the Kirbyville area Saturday.

Just after 3pm Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department was toned out to assist Roganville VFD and Kirbyville VFD with a 35 acre blaze in a blueberry field located at 265 Cr 482 in Kirbyville.

Unfortunately, our staff was unable to get into the location due to safety measures.

Kirbyville Fire Chief Greg Ellis said, "Winds are gonna be strong next few days according to Texas A&M Forests Service. Please abstain from burning with the high winds. We have had four calls within 30 minutes today."
