Updated information: Collision South of Kirbyville

Shortly after 8 pm, Wednesday Jasper County Dispatch requested units to respond south of Kirbyville on Hwy 96 near 1004 East.

Kirbyville Police, Jasper County Sheriff's Department, The Texas Department of Public Safety and Kirbyville Volunteer Fire Department all responded to the scene.

The DPS investigation showed that a 2006 Toyota Camry was traveling south, followed by a 1997 Toyota Tacoma. It is reported that the Tacoma struck the rear of the Camry. The Camry then traveled off the road to the right where it struck a tree.

The driver of the Camry, identified as 42-year-old Adelaido Cruz of Kirbyville, was not injured.

The driver of the Tacoma, identified as 19-year-old Lester Parks of Kirbyville, and his passenger, a 15-year-old juvenile, were also not injured.
