UPDATE: Investigation Continues in the Search for Missing Newton County Man

The search for missing Newton County man Joshua Larkin, 38, who disappeared on November 27, 2022, is ongoing. Law enforcement agencies continue to pursue every lead in this joint investigation.

On Friday evening, ETB Photojournalist, Rita Shipp, spoke with Sheriff Havard, who confirmed that an evidentiary search warrant was executed earlier that morning at a residence in Kirbyville. According to Sheriff Havard, officers from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department, Newton County Sheriff’s Department, and additional agencies searched a total of four properties within Jasper County today as part of the ongoing investigation.

Sheriff Havard also noted that while people of interest have been identified, no arrests have been made at this time. “This remains an active investigation,” he stressed, urging anyone with information to come forward.
