Authorities have identified a man killed Monday when he was struck by a train.
He was identified as Aidan Montondon, 21, of Vidor, according to information from the Vidor Police Department.
Montondon was reported missing by his mother Tuesday, and and he was identified by his finger prints.

An unidentified man was struck and killed by a train on Ethel Lane in Vidor Monday afternoon.
An unidentified man was struck and killed by a train on Ethel Lane in Vidor at around 1:19 Monday afternoon.
According to a press release, Vidor Police Chief Rod Carroll said, "The conductor saw the man on the tracks, but was unable to stop in time to avoid hitting him. Witnesses reported seeing the man walking along the tracks before the accident occurred."
Justice of the Peace Stagner has ordered an autopsy.

On Monday, December 11, 2023, at 1:19 PM, the Vidor Police Department Dispatch Center received a call of an individual struck by a train at FM 1132 and East Railroad on the tracks. Officers responded to the area and found the subject under the train in the area of East Railroad and Ethel Lane. It was determined that he was deceased. The individual was witnessed walking alongside the tracks before the incident. Justice of the Peace Stagner was called to the scene and pronounced the individual deceased. He ordered an autopsy. The identity of the individual is not confirmed at this time. The investigation is ongoing. The name of the deceased will be released upon confirmation of his identity and notice of next of kin.
