Two vehicle fatality crash in Fred this morning

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a two-vehicle fatality crash on Farm-to-Market Road 92, north of Fred, that occurred Wednesday, October 23.

DPS Media Sergeant Shana Clark said, "The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 6:58 a.m., a 2015 Ram 3500 was traveling north on F.M. 92 and a 2009 Chevrolet HHR was exiting a private drive attempting to turn left on F.M. 92. It is reported that the Chevrolet failed to yield the right-of-way from the private drive and was struck by the Ram."

The driver of the Ram, identified as 24-year-old Shylee Eddings of Silsbee, was transported to Christus Memorial Southeast for possible non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 62-year-old Thomas O'Kane of Fred, was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Tina Self.
