Two-vehicle early-morning accident involving Peterbilt, resulted in only minor injuries
At around 4:30am Thursday morning, Kirbyville Police Department and Kirbyville Volunteer Fire Department were called out to a two vehicle accident involving a loaded 18 wheeler.
Kirbyville PD Officer Richard Going said, "An 18-wheel Peterbilt truck loaded with pallets belonging to Arrington Lumber and Pallet out of Jacksonville, TX, was stopped at the red light on Hwy 96 South bound at FM 82. The driver was waiting for the light to turn green.
Before long, a Chrysler Pacifica belonging to Lewis Transportation out of Jasper was also driving on Hwy 96 South but failed to stop at the red light and ran into the back of the loaded trailer.
Incredibly, there were only minor injuries which were treated at the scene.
