Two vehicle crash Sunday sent one to Hospital and another to Jail

At 7:23 Sunday night, Jasper Police were called out to Hwy 96 and Shady Lane in Jasper.
According to the report, a 2022 gray Ford Bronco, driven by Louwanna Lunday of Zavalla was pulling out of Hicks St. to enter Hwy 96.
At that same time, Tiffany Mijares was travelling south bound on US HWY 96 in a 2020 gray Chevy Colorado. Lunday pulled out in front of Mijares whose vehicle struck Lunday.
The reporting officer said that upon his arrival, "I smelled the odor of alcoholic beverages on her (Lunday's) breath. SFST's (Standardized Field Sobriety Test's) were completed and multiple indicators were observed and Lunday was placed under arrest for Intoxication Assault Causes Serious Bodily Injury."
Mijares was found to have injuries to her hip and was transferred to another facility for surgery.
A GoFundMe has been set up to assist Mijares as she is hospitalized and recovering from a broken hip and other serious injuries.
