Two vehicle accident sent two to hospital, one flown for life-threatening injuries

The Texas Department of Public Safety and Jasper County Sheriff's Department investigated a crash on U.S. Highway 96, at the intersection of Farm-to-Market Road 1004 in Call, that occurred today, April 11.


At around 7:45 a.m., a 2015 Chrysler 200 was traveling north, while a 2019 Ram 1500 was traveling south, on U.S. Highway 96. It is reported that a 2020 Subaru SUV was traveling east on Farm-to-Market Road 1004 and failed to yield to the Ram, which caused the driver of the Ram to take evasive action to the left and travel into the oncoming lane, where it struck the Chrysler head-on. The Subaru was not struck.


The driver of the Chrysler, identified as 25-year-old Tatyana Lacey of Pineland, was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment of life-threating injuries.


The driver of the Ram, identified as 57-year-old Lisa Langley of Buna and one adult passenger, was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment of non-life-threating injuries.


The driver of the Subaru, identified as 90-year-old Clara Perino of Kirbyville, was not injured.
