At 4:30 pm Monday, Jasper Police were called out to the corner of South Bowie and West Gibson (Hwy 190) in Jasper for a two vehicle accident.
Lieutenant Garrett Foster said that a grey 2013 Toyota Avalon driven by 21-year-old Qy Aruae, Ty Qiruae Chatham of Jasper was traveling North on South Bowie. At that same time, 33-year-old Hayes Tee Jay of Sulphur, Louisiana was driving a grey 2024 Chevy Silverado and was stopped at the stop sign to turn left on West Gibson, but stated that he did not see the car driven by Chatham.
