Two-vehicle accident Monday in Jasper resulted in no injuries
At around 6:30 pm on Monday, October 21st there was a two-vehicle accident on Hwy 190 at the Walmart intersection in Jasper.
According to the report from Jasper Police, a 2016 black Ram 1500 driven by 40-year-old Aaron Kyle Hallford was traveling westbound on Hwy 190 entering the intersection at Walmart. Hallford was carrying four minor children in the vehicle with him.
At that same time, 38-year-old Charmon Lopez of Brookeland was leaving Walmart, driving a 2024 white Chevy Traverse. Lopez was making a left hand turn east on Hwy 190.
The report states that Hallford proceeded into the intersection where his vehicle struck Lopez's driver's side door.
When questioned, Lopez said she had a green light. Hallford said that he wasn't sure if he had a red or green light, however there were skid marks well before the stop line coming from the direction Hallford was traveling.
A witness said that they were unsure who had the right of way.
There were no reported injuries, and both vehicles were towed by Jasper Xxon Towing. No citations were issued.
