Updated information: Two vehicle accident in Northwest Jasper County

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) investigated a two-vehicle crash on Friday July 12, 2024 on state Highway 63.
The preliminary investigation indicates that at approximately 11:38 p.m., a 2004 white Hyundai Santa Fe was traveling southbound on County Road 32. A 2024 Mack commercial motor vehicle (CMV) was traveling eastbound on state Highway 63.
The driver of the Santa Fe disregarded the stop sign approaching the intersection of both roads and struck the side of the trailer of the CMV.
The driver of the Hyundai was identified as Clint Jacobs, 22, from Jasper, Texas. Jacobs was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital in Lufkin with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the CMV was not injured in the crash.
This crash remains under investigation and there is no additional information at this time.
