Two Kirbyville Wildcat Powerlifters qualified last week for State Competition coming up in Abilene and in Edinburgh

17-year-old Senior Kyla Wells is now a 2X State qualifier

Kirbyville, TX- Kyla Wells, Senior at Kirbyville High School is now a 2X state qualifier for powerlifting. Her regional list numbers are as follows:

Squat: 265lbs

Bench: 135lbs

Dead Lift: 290lbs.

She competes Thursday, March 13th at 1:30 pm in Edinburgh, Tx

Kyla also runs Cross Country and Track for Kirbyville.

17-year-old Junior Austin Moody qualified with his personal best of 1,300 lbs
17-year-old Junior Austin Moody qualified with his personal best of 1,300 lbs

Also, finishing with a personal best of 1,300 lbs, is KHS Junior, Austin Moody. Moody placed 4th in the region and secured his position to compete in Abilene at the State Powerlifting Meet.

His regional list numbers are as follows;

Squat 485lb

Bench 335lb

Deadlift 480lb

Austin played varsity football this year and he’s currently an alternate on the tennis team that has qualified for state. That meet is also coming up.
