Trinity County man initially arrested on alcohol violation in Buna, ended up with drug charges as well

Buna, Tx- Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard said Monday that at around 9:43 Sunday evening an off-duty Deputy noticed suspicious activity at the Shell Station located at Hwy 62 and Hwy 96 in Buna.


Havard said that there were three subjects in a vehicle with multiple containers of alcohol, two of which were under age. The off-duty Deputy requested an on-duty deputy to assist.


One of the subjects, identified as Kaleb Marshall Crowell, 18, of Trinity, was initially detained for an alcohol violation. Upon search, Crowell was found to be in possession of suspected MDMA/Ecstasy. Crowell was subsequently arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance PG2 >=4G<200G-F2, and transported to the Jasper County Jail.


Mr. Crowell is innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.


Sheriff Chuck Havard said that he and his staff are committed to combatting criminal activity in Jasper County.
