Three vehicle accident sent two to the hospital
According to Jasper Police Officer, Zachary Oxener, the accident happened on Tuesday morning just before 10 am on Hwy 190 West at Premier Drive in Jasper.
According to Oxener's report, 65-year-old Gentry Ralph Bankhead, of Jasper, was driving a 2012 Dodge pickup truck eastbound on Hwy 190 when he attempted to turn onto Premier Drive and turned into the oncoming traffic.
Oxener said that Bankhead hit a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe causing a chain event, sending the Tahoe crashing into a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
46-year-old Adriana Melendez Vargas, of Jasper was driving the Tahoe and was traveling with 26-year-old Alejandra Vargas and a 4-year-old child. Both Alejandra Vargas and the little girl were transported by Allegiance EMS to Jasper Memorial for treatment of their injuries. Adriana Vargas was not injured.
The driver of the Jeep, 75-year-old Carol Ann Waller of Pineland was not injured. Bankhead was also not injured.
