Three-vehicle accident on Hwy 190 in front of Lowe's

Just before 5 pm Monday, Jasper Police were called out to Hwy 190 in front of Lowe's for a three vehicle crash.

According to the police report, a

white 2017Buick Envision driven by 26-year-old Brianna Marie Norsworthy from Lufkin was traveling East on Gibson St. (Hwy 190) When she moved left into the turning lane to exit onto Premier Drive. Norsworthy also had a six-year-old passenger riding with her. At this same time, a black 2003 Toyota Camry, driven by 34-year-old Alexander C. Wright of Jasper was traveling West on Hwy 190 approaching Premier Drive, in the outside lane. A third vehicle, a blue 2022 Chevy Silverado driven by 30-year-old Jared Nathanael Rhodes of Hemphill was sitting still on Premier Drive at the stop sign waiting for his turn to enter the Hwy.

According to the report, Norsworthy failed to yield the right of way, and crossed the West bound lanes of traffic. This reportedly caused Wright to crash into Norsworthy vehicle who then crashed into Rhodes truck.

Norsworthy was injured and taken to Jasper Memorial Hospital with what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
