The Kirbyville First Assembly Back to School Event is this Saturday, but some huge changes have been made

For the past two years, Kirbyville First Assembly of God, along with a few local organizations has held a huge back to school event giving away new shoes, school supplies, and hair cuts, but it has outgrown the churches facility.

This year, the event will be held at the Kirbyville Jr. High Gym on Saturday, July 20th from 10am until 2pm. Also new this year, a lot of local churches, businesses, and organizations are pulling together to make this the best back to school event ever!

(The flyer below lists many of the organizations that are partnering together to make this the best event ever)

First Assembly Pastor Shawn Monclova said, "The event is being advertised for KCISD kids, and we are doing it on the honor system. And yes we a have a good bit more shoes than we've had in the past, but it is first come first serve basis. We will also have a lot more school supplies and backpacks this year. Also new this year, families that come to the event are able to go to the Kirbyville Christian Outreach and shop for free for a few outfits. Each child will be given a wrist band when they attend, and they have to keep their bands from the event to shop at KCO. There is also a free lunch and haircuts as well. We have multiple hair cutters this year, I think two. In the past, Patty Haley was the only hairdresser, so now twice as many kids will receive free cuts. They will also be able to make appointments for the churches clothing closet if they need to."
