Updated information: SUV discovered submerged on FM 777

Updated information: At 4:10 pm Thursday, Beech Grove Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a single-vehicle accident on FM 777 just south of CR 139.


Arriving units found a Jeep SUV submerged in a creek drain that was full of water. The driver had self-rescued and was not injured.


The accident was investigated by the Texas Department of Public Safety - Southeast Texas Region.

The DPS Trooper who investigated the accident said that the 2023 Jeep SUV was traveling east. It is reported that the driver traveled off the road to the right into the east ditch to avoid striking a hog that entered the roadway and landed in a small creek.

 

The driver, identified as 37-year-old Jordan Miller of Jasper, was not injured.

 

The vehicle was removed by Jasper Xxon Towing And Recovery.

BGVFD responded with Tanker 11 and 6 firefighters.
