As a continuation of an earlier story, we have obtained further information from The Texas Department of Public Safety on the single-vehicle crash on state Highway 63, near County Road 115, that occurred Sunday, July 21.

DPS Media Sergeant Shana Clark said, "At approximately 1:29 a.m., a 2018 Ford Focus was traveling west and reportedly traveled off the road to the right and into the ditch where it overturned multiple times. The driver then fled the scene on foot".

Clark continued, "The driver, identified as 35-year-old Nelson Watson of Newton, fled the scene. Criminal charges are likely. His passenger, 25-year-old Kenia Aldaco, was transported to Jasper Memorial Hospital with injuries reported as incapacitating".
