Sundays one-vehicle accident victim has been identified-driver fled on foot
As a continuation of an earlier story, we have obtained further information from The Texas Department of Public Safety on the single-vehicle crash on state Highway 63, near County Road 115, that occurred Sunday, July 21.
DPS Media Sergeant Shana Clark said, "At approximately 1:29 a.m., a 2018 Ford Focus was traveling west and reportedly traveled off the road to the right and into the ditch where it overturned multiple times. The driver then fled the scene on foot".
Clark continued, "The driver, identified as 35-year-old Nelson Watson of Newton, fled the scene. Criminal charges are likely. His passenger, 25-year-old Kenia Aldaco, was transported to Jasper Memorial Hospital with injuries reported as incapacitating".

At 1:28 Sunday morning, Jasper Volunteer Fire Department was called out to a one vehicle accident on Hwy 63 West and County Road 115.
JVFD Chief Brandon Duckworth said, "Within a short amount of time units arrived to find one person trapped in the car and went right to work to gain access to them. With the use of extrication tools we were able to safely remover the driver from the vehicle and turn them over to Jasper EMS".
When the call went out, dispatch stated that the woman's arm was pinned inside the vehicle. We have reached out to Jasper County Sheriff's Department and The Department of Public Safety for additional information and will update our readers as it becomes available.
