Silsbee woman charged in the murder of Woodville man

A Silsbee woman is behind bars in connection with the shooting death of a Woodville man.
According to a press release, on October 18th at 9:15 p.m., the Hardin County Sheriff’s Department was called out to 2855 Holly Hill Drive in Silsbee in regards to a reported shooting.
According to Hardin County Sheriff Mark Davis, once there, deputies found the body of a man identified as 33-year-old Granville Owen Dennis Jr. of Woodville who apparently died from a single shotgun wound.
30-year-old Amy Sue Hammond, was arrested sometime after midnight on Saturday and was charged in connection to Dennis’ death according to Sheriff Davis.
Hammond was arraigned by Hardin County Justice of the Peace Melissa Minton, and is currently being held under a $750K bond for Murder.
Monday update:
We have no new info to release at this time. We are still continuing the investigation and waiting on autopsy results.
A motive for the shooting has not yet been established.

On October 18th at 9:15 p.m., the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office responded to 2855 Holly Hill Drive in Silsbee to investigate a reported shooting. Deputies arrived to find an adult male deceased from a single gunshot wound. The victim has been identified as Granville Owen Dennis Jr., 33, from Woodville. A female was transported from the scene by detectives for further investigation. After midnight this morning, she was charged in connection to Dennis’ death. She has been identified as Amy Sue Hammond, 30, from Silsbee. She has been arraigned by Hardin County Justice of the Peace Melissa Minton and is currently being held in the county jail under a $750,000.00 bond for Murder. Detectives continue to process evidence collected at the scene in hopes of determining a motive for the shooting.
