Sheriff Havard alerts Jasper County citizens to ongoing phone scams in our area

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office wants to alert area residents to ongoing phone scams in which suspects pose as members of law-enforcement to coerce victims into giving them money. This type of scam has occurred throughout the Jasper County area.

Legitimate law-enforcement will never ask you to pay a fine or provide this information through a phone call. If you receive such a contact, hang up and immediately report this to your local police department or the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.
