On Sunday, September 8, 2024, Mr. Ronnie E. Erwin from Columbia, Tennessee,

presented me with his new book. “Stars Over Texas” is a 3-volume set about the history of Texas Sheriffs.

Mr. Erwin stated that he and his late wife started this project over 25 years ago to document and report the history of Sheriffs across the now 254 counties in Texas. It is a rich and very well detailed account of Sheriffs and other law enforcement activities in the State of Texas, that includes photographs and illustration.
