Severe Weather Warning

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a severe weather warning for Southeast Texas effective today, December 28, 2024.


Potential Hazards:


Damaging Wind Gusts: Strong winds capable of causing property damage and power outages.


Large Hail: Hailstones that can damage vehicles, roofs, and vegetation.


Isolated Tornadoes: Tornadoes may develop with little warning, posing a significant threat to life and property.


Safety Precautions:


Stay Informed: Continuously monitor local weather updates through reliable sources.


Secure Property: Bring indoors or firmly anchor any outdoor items that could become hazardous in high winds.


Seek Shelter: If a tornado warning is issued, immediately move to a small, windowless interior room on the lowest level of a sturdy building.


Avoid Flooded Areas: Do not drive through flooded roadways; even shallow water can be dangerous.


Prepare for Power Outages: Charge electronic devices, have flashlights ready, and consider having backup power sources if available.
