Severe Weather Causes Road Hazards Across the County

Severe weather conditions are wreaking havoc across the county, causing dangerous travel conditions and significant roadway obstructions. Multiple emergency crews are currently responding to reports of debris scattered on highways, downed power lines, and fallen trees blocking major roadways.

Highway 96 coming into Jasper has debris affecting traffic, and numerous power lines are reported down throughout the city. Additionally, several large pine trees have fallen on FM 2799, rendering the roadway impassable at this time.
