Updated: Serious ATV accident early this morning sent one to the hospital

At 3:33 a.m. Beech Grove Volunteer Fire Department and The Texas Department of Public Safety responded to an ATV accident on CR 322 at CR 317.

When units arrived, they Photo from Beech Grove VFD found that a 2015 Polaris Ranger 1000 was traveling south and reportedly struck a log that was partially in the roadway, causing the Polaris to overturn on its right side and skid for several feet.

The driver, identified as 31-year-old Whitney Jeans of Buna, was flown by Air Rescue - Beaumont/Jasper to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The passenger received only minor injuries and was treated by Beech Grove VFD personnel who administered medical aid until the arrival of Allegiance Mobile Health - Jasper EMS. The accident was investigated by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Department of Public Safety - Southeast Texas Region.
