Search Efforts Continue Today in Kirbyville for missing Joshua Larkin

On February 17, 2025, investigators with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office and the Jasper County District Attorney’s office searched a piece of property off of FM 252 regarding the missing person case of Josh Larkin.


A large excavator was brought in and approximately 4,000 cubic yards of dirt was removed around an abandoned well site. The hole was approximately 40’ deep and approximately 50’ wide.


Investigators spent most of the day sifting through dirt and debris searching for evidence.


Jasper County Sherif Chuck Havard and Jasper County District Attorney

Ann Pickle both said this evening that they are feeling confident and are extremely committed to seeing the investigation completed.


Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard and Jasper County District Attorney Anne Pickle along with Newton County Sheriff Colton Havard and Newton County District Attorney Courtney Ponthier have all stated that this case is a high priority and every lead will be followed to bring people to justice regarding the disappearance of Josh Larkin.
