School Bus crash this morning on FM 105 in Jasper County
The Department of Public Safety is investigating a non-injury crash involving a school bus on FM 105, at the intersection of CR 903, that occurred today within Jasper County.
DPS Media Sergeant Shana Clark said, "The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 6:25 a.m., 2024 Ford F-250 was traveling north. It is reported that a Vidor ISD school bus backed out of County Road 903, onto F.M. 105 to travel back south and was struck on its left side by the Ford F-250. After the crash, a secondary crash occurred when a 2012 Ford pickup was traveling south and traveled off the road to the left to avoid the collision, causing undercarriage damage."
The driver of the Ford F-250 and one adult passenger, were not injured. The driver is identified as 56-year-old Antonio Guerrero-Preciado of Crane, Tx.
The driver of the school bus, and five children on it were uninjured. The driver is identified as 76-year-old Wayne Brice of Orange.
The driver of the Ford pickup, identified as 20-year-old Reese Baker of Evadale, was also not injured.
This morning, Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard released the following statement on the accident:
"Jasper County Sheriff Deputies were on the scene of a crash involving a Vidor ISD school bus and a P/U truck on FM 105 just inside Jasper County. The crash occurred at approximately 6:20 am. The driver and the passenger of the pick up truck will be transported to the hospital with minor injuries. There are no reported injuries of any school children. All the school children left the scene on another bus and are being transported to school."
