Scheduled power outage for City of Jasper customers

Schedule Power Outage

Lee Wellman, the Director of the Light and Power Department for the City of Jasper, advised that they will be having a scheduled power outage for some maintenance work at the Jason Electrical Substation.

According to Mr. Wellman, S&C Contractors will perform maintenance on a Circuit Switch that feeds the transformer from the 138,000-volt transmission line.

This outage is scheduled for September 28, beginning at midnight. Power should be restored by 6 a.m. on September 29, making a total of 6 hours without power. This will include all customers with City of Jasper power.

Crews will check on all emergency power generators to ensure water and sewer services do not experience interruptions. During the outage, the Jasper Police Department will have extra patrol units to help with roadway intersections and signal lights.
