Roy James Setters December 8, 1943 - September 8, 2024 U.S. Veteran

Roy James Setters, 80, of Irving (formerly of Colmesneil), passed away Sunday, September 8, 2024 in Irving, Texas.

A celebration of Roy’s life will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Katy Baptist Church in Colmesneil, Texas. Officiating will be Brother Bubba Sheffield.

Roy was born December 8, 1943 to Charles Roscoe and Elda Mae Clow Setters in Beaumont, Texas. A longtime resident of Colmesneil, he had lived in Irving for the past 2 years. He was retired from Cooper Clinic and was a U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran. He was also a member of Katy Baptist Church in Colmesneil.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Elda Mae Setters; brother, Eldon Setters; sisters, Arlene Stelly, Janice Tribes, and Nancy Fields.

He is survived by his daughters, Rhonda Viveros of Irving, Cheryl Rabago of Silsbee, and Rachel Howard of Cleveland; brother, Harry Dale Setters of Bronson; sisters, Sue Reagan of Warren, and Linda Sanchez of Silsbee; 7 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.

Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Woodville, Texas.
