Rose M. Throckmorton February 10, 1926 - July 1, 2024

A Celebration of Rose M. Throckmorton’s Life, age 98, of Jasper, Texas, will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 5, 2024 at St. Raymond’s Catholic Church in Rayburn Country, Texas.

Rose passed away on July 1, 2024 at her home in the Westwood Community at Lake Sam Rayburn, Texas surrounded by her family.

A native of Beaumont, Texas, former resident of Oklahoma City and Norman, Oklahoma, Rose had been a longtime resident of the Westwood Community at Lake Sam Rayburn, Texas since 1984. She retired from Sears and Roebuck after 25 years of service. After retirement Rose and her husband moved to Lake Sam Rayburn where she enjoyed cooking, writing, painting and was an active member of St. Raymond’s Catholic Church.

Rose is survived by her daughters, Donna Powell of Kilgore, Texas, Janice Lewis of the Westwood Community at Lake Sam Rayburn, Texas, Kay Peterson of Greeley, Colorado and Joanna Skogman of San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Edna Musick; her husband, W.F. “Jack” Throckmorton and her sons-in-law, Billy Powell, Rick Peterson and Robert Skogman, Jr.
