A Celebration of Robert Murray Burkett’s Life, age 65, of Nederland, Texas, will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 10, 2024 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Jasper, Texas with burial to follow at Homer Cemetery in Jasper, Texas. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:30 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper, Texas before the mass.
Murray passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Beaumont, Texas surrounded by his loving family.
A native and lifelong resident of Jefferson County, Texas, Murray was a retired process operator for Exxon Mobil in Beaumont, Texas and was a member of the Circle of Hope in Nederland, Texas. He loved fishing, hunting, motorcycle riding and spending time with his grandchildren.
Murray is survived by his wife, Renee Burkett of Nederland, Texas; daughter, Jennifer Reynolds and husband Darrik of Port Arthur, Texas; brother, Gary Burkett and wife Claudia of Port Neches, Texas; mother of their daughters, Sandy Rizzato and husband Mark of Port Arthur, Texas; grandchildren, Brooklyn Tregre, Dylan Reynolds, Jacob Reynolds and Noah Reynolds; niece, Crystal Burkett Saylor, great-nephew, Baylen Saylor and great niece, Vivian Saylor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hal and Linda Burkett and his daughter, Amanda Burkett Tregre.
Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper.
