Tyler County Judge, Milton Powers has released a response to the open letter from the group Concerned Citizens of Tyler County. The entirety of the response is below;
Dear Citizens of Tyler County,
I'm writing to you today as your County Judge to express my concern and disappointment regarding the significant increase in home appraisal values this year. The Tyler County Commissioners Court shares my frustration, and we want to encourage each of you to take action by protesting these high numbers.
We understand the impact that these increased values can have on your property taxes, and we believe it's essential to address this issue. Therefore, we strongly encourage you to protest your property value with the Tyler County Appraisal District as soon as possible. The deadline to file a protest is September 6, 2024, so please act quickly.
By protesting your property value, you can help ensure that your property taxes are fair and accurate. We urge you to take advantage of this opportunity and make your voice heard.
If you need assistance or guidance on how to file a protest, please don't hesitate to reach out to the Tyler County Appraisal District 409-283-3736. They can provide you with the necessary information and support.
Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I hope you will join us in addressing this issue.
Sincerely,
Milton Powers
