Police Academy sponsorship is still needed to train new applicants in Jasper County

Last Friday was the deadline to apply for the upcoming Police Academy hosted by Angelina College in Jasper. The Academy will begin in January. There were well over 100 applications handed out. We are very pleased with the applicants that were vetted and accepted. They come from all different walks of life. Each of these men and women are ready to serve the citizens of their respective communities. I also want to thank all the community and school leaders in our community who have helped bring the Academy back to Jasper County.

With that being said, there have been many community and business leaders who have stepped up and sponsored a cadet. The cost for each cadet is approximately $2520.00. There are several very qualified cadets that still need to be sponsored.
