Updated: Pickup truck burst into flames after hitting stopped semi, killing the driver
The Texas Department of Public Safety are investigating a fatal crash on U.S. Highway 69 in Rockland, that occurred today, December 5.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 3:52 p.m., a Kenworth truck tractor semi-trailer was traveling north and was stopped due to construction and was reportedly struck in the rear by a Ford F-150. After impact, the pickup caught fire.
The driver of the pickup has been identified as 34-year-old Matthew Everett Carr, of Woodville.
Carr succumbed to injuries sustained during the crash and was pronounced deceased on scene by a Justice of the Peace.
