Just after 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the Kirbyville Volunteer Fire Department (KVFD) responded to a travel trailer fire on FM 1013, roughly two miles east of Kirbyville. Fire crews arrived swiftly and successfully extinguished the blaze before it could spread further.
According to KVFD Chief Greg Ellis, a passing motorist noticed the fire and immediately called 911. The individual also stopped and called out multiple times in an attempt to alert anyone who might have been inside but received no response. Fortunately, the trailer was unoccupied at the time, and no injuries were reported.
Chief Ellis confirmed that the fire originated from the air conditioning unit within the trailer.
