Orange County man faces up to 40 years for selling fentanyl to woman causing her death

An Orange County man has pleaded guilty to selling drugs containing fentanyl to a Humble woman, causing her death.
38-year-old Lawrence Duguett Hardin, Jr., pleaded guilty to the charge of 'Possession with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl' before United States Magistrate Judge Zack Hawthorn on Thursday, September 5, 2024.
According to court records, on August 17, 2023 a 22-year-old Humble woman died as a result of fentanyl exposure, and according to an investigation, the drugs were provided to her by Hardin.
Police seized 365.2 grams of fentanyl and 323.8 grams of cocaine during a search of Hardin's apartment.
Hardin could spend up to 40 years in federal prison if convicted.
