Updated information: One vehicle roll over on Hwy 1013 West Friday night

JASPER COUNTY-The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred on June 12, on Farm-to-Market road 1013.


The preliminary investigation indicates that at approximately 11:10 p.m., a 2019 white Ford Ranger pick-up was traveling westbound at mile marker 758.


The vehicle veered off the road struck a tree and rolled over several times. The vehicle came to rest at the tree line a short distance from the road.


The driver of the Ford Ranger was identified as Fate Knighten, 19, from Woodville, Texas. Knighten was transported to Jasper Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced deceased by the medical staff.


This crash remains under investigation and there is no additional information at this time.

At around 11:15 Friday night, Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department was called out to a one vehicle roll over accident with entrapment.


While not much information is available at this time, what we do know from our person on the scene is that the vehicle was traveling on Hwy 1013 west near the Neches River bridge when it somehow left the road and flipped down the embankment into the trees.


Air rescue was summoned but was unable to assist due to dangerous weather conditions.


Jasper EMS transported the man to Jasper Memorial Hospital.
