One vehicle accident breaks power pole in half in downtown Jasper Saturday
On June 1st at 4:40 pm, the Jasper Police Department was called out to Hwy 190 West for a one vehicle accident.
According to the investigation, 68-year-old Alvin Ray Landry of Humble was traveling South on US 96 when he moved into the right-hand lane to exit and merge onto US 190 W.
According to the report, Landry exited at an unsafe speed and lost control of the 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 he was driving. The vehicle struck a power pole in an adjacent parking lot to the North and continued traveling into the private parking lot where the truck finally came to a stop.
The power pole was broken in half and the truck was towed by Jasper Exxon. No injuries were reported.
