Obituary of William Lewis Seale, Sr. October 25, 1937 - March 8, 2025

William “Bill” Lewis Seale Sr., 87, of Lufkin, Texas passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025 in Lufkin, Texas.
Visitation will begin at 12 p.m., followed by service at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025 at Stringer & Griffin Chapel in Woodville, Texas. Officiating will be Brother Trey Thompson. A graveside service will follow at Davis Cemetery in Colmesneil, Texas, officiated by Brother Covale McRae. Serving as pallbearers will be Dallas Seale, Jaydon Seale, Darren Spearman, Kason Maxam, Josh Worrell, Doug Bartlett, Randy Guerrero, and Stephen Wells. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be V. Wayne Evans, Wayne Bynum, Freeman Thompson, James Price, and Bill Massey.
William was born October 25, 1937 to William Edward and Maggie Elmore Seale in Port Arthur, Texas. During high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as a Naval Reservist. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he served as an aircraft mechanic. He considered it a great honor to serve his country and was proud to be a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He was a skilled auto mechanic by trade and you could often find him working on cars and rebuilding motorcycles in his shop. He also loved to travel and spent much of his early life riding his motorcycle cross country, including an unforgettable trip up Pike’s Peak in Colorado. The most defining thing in his life was his love for the Lord and deep desire for his loved ones to know Jesus. He faithfully served as a deacon for over 30 years, including in his home church, Promise Land Baptist. He shared his love for our Savior and gift for music by playing his harmonica and fiddle at church as often as he could.
William was preceded in death by his father and mother, William and Maggie Seale; and brothers, George Seale and Robert Seale.
William is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Glenda; sons William Seale, Jr. and wife, Angela of Lufkin and Kevin Seale and wife, Alli of Frederick, MD; daughters Robin Abbott of Spring, Jennifer Spearman and husband, Phillip of Warren, and Virginia Maxam of Lufkin; grandchildren Ashley Cluff and husband, Caleb, Amy Abbott, Aaron Abbott, Allie Abbott, Dallas Seale, Alex Seale, Jaydon Seale, Dustin Seale, Sarah Seale, Elias Seale, Eden Seale, Kamrie Spearman, Jayla Spearman, Darren Spearman, Abby Maxam, Kason Maxam, Ella Maxam, Archer Seale, and Micah Seale.
Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Woodville, Texas.
