Obituary of William E. Swilley February 27, 1944 - March 8, 2025

A Celebration of William E. Swilley’s Life, age 81, of Jasper, Texas, will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper, Texas with burial to follow at Zion Hill Cemetery in Jasper Texas. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at the Funeral Home.

William passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Timberidge Nursing and Rehab in Jasper, Texas.

A native and lifelong resident of Jasper, Texas, William graduated from Jasper High School in 1962 and retired from the TEX DOT in 1992 after 29 years of service. William was very active with church work at Bishop Chapel. He enjoyed fishing and carpentry and loved his dogs.

William is survived by his son, Lee Swilley and wife Jill of Pensacola, Florida; daughter, Julia Lingad and husband Eric of Gulf Breeze, Florida; step-son, Thomas “Tommy” Doyle and wife Brandy of Rose City, Texas; sister, Francis Duckworth of Jasper, Texas; grandchildren, Brady Swilley, Cody Swilley, Meghan Doyle and Hannah Doyle and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Nellie Swilley; his wife of 31 years, Patti Swilley; brother, John Swilley and sister, Gracie Dalton.
