Obituary of Tonna Walker November 26, 1948 - April 5, 2025

A Celebration of Tonna Joan Reid Walker’s Life, age 76, of Jasper, Texas, will be Tuesday, April 8, 2025. The Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. and Celebration of Life at 10:00 at the Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper, Texas. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. at the Fairview Cemetery in Town Bluff, Texas which is in Tyler County. All will be led by Pastor Chet Strain of the Jasper County Cowboy Church.

Tonna was born November 26, 1948 and passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at her home in Jasper, Texas surrounded by her loving family.

A native of Fort Worth, Texas, Tonna was a long-time resident of Nederland, Texas. She was married to James Walker and they were owners and operators of Walker Scale and Equipment Company in Port Neches for over twenty-five years. Moving from Nederland, she has loved living in Jasper since 2013. Tonna enjoyed her hobbies of decorating, redecorating and painting. She loved her Cowboy Church in Jasper, and loved and enjoyed her special little dog, Betty Sue. Tonna was a precious lady and will be missed by so many.

Tonna is survived by her three daughters, Regina McManus and husband Curtis of Jasper, Jalynn Rosetta and husband Kevin of Nederland, and Michelle Callaway and husband Bobby of Nederland; twelve grandchildren Kristin Oxener, Darian Watts, Bay Callaway, Blair Callaway, Andi Repka, Halle McAllister, Ren Callaway, Jayna Bonnette, Andrea Lattimore, Heather Veazey, Crystal Harris and Amber Taylor; and fifteen great grandchildren, Adley, Beau, Olivia, Clyde, Caleb, Joshua, Zephyr, Summhyr, Rylee, Grace Lynn, Jayden, Jordan, Avalee, Casey, and Brynlee.

Her family expresses their appreciation to Tonna’s pallbearers who are Zack Watts, Zack Oxener, Bobby Callaway, Ren Callaway, Bay Callaway and Kevin Rosetta.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred Eloice Cagle Reid and Thomas Athel Reid; husband of 36 years, James Harold Walker, Sr.; daughter, Tina Taylor; son, David Walker; sister, Tonie Havard; and brother, Thomas Reid.

Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper, Texas.
