Obituary of Scottie Bryan Davis April 14, 1937 - September 29, 2024
A Celebration of Scottie Bryan Davis’ Life, age 87, of Jasper, Texas, will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 3, 2024 at the Holly Springs Baptist Church in the Holly Springs Community of Jasper, Texas with burial to follow at the Old Magnolia Cemetery in Holly Springs. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper, Texas.
Scottie passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at her home in Holly Springs surrounded by her loving family.
A native and lifelong Jasper resident in the Holly Springs Community, Scottie married Doyle Davis on April 8, 1955 in Hemphill, Texas and was an active member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. She loved children and helped raise half of Jasper County through the Jasper High School PELE nursery for 27 years before retiring and she enjoyed taking care of her flowers. Scottie loved her family, church family and everyone else that came across her path.
Scottie is survived by her husband of 70 years, Doyle Davis of Jasper, Texas; sons, Lynn Davis and wife Jana of Fischer, Texas and Ray Davis and wife Melissa of Hillsboro, Texas; daughter, Terry Johnston and husband Leonard of Jasper, Texas; grandchildren, Dustin Davis, Stephanie Sanders, Scottie Joy Murphy, Ben Davis, Jared Davis, Luke Davis, Annie Jones, Sara Duelm, Michael Ray Davis, Lissa Dittmar, Emilee Johnston and Leonard D. Johnston and twenty-three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Mary Ann Nichols; daughter, Loretta Kaye Davis and sisters, Helen Bryant, Annie Frank Robinson and Lynda Jo Morgan.
Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper.
