Obituary of Michael "Mike" Edward Ozan October 27, 1952 - February 27, 2025

A Celebration of Michael Ozan’s Life, age 72, of Jasper, Texas, will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at North Bonami Missionary Baptist Church in Kirbyville, Texas with burial following at Vann cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 until the time of service at the church.
Mike was born October 27, 1952 in Call, Texas and passed into his eternal reward in Heaven on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He grew up in the Call area and did work as a paint and body man. Later in life he found his true passion for woodworking. Mike’s talents can be seen displayed in porch swings and benches on porches throughout southeast Texas.
Among his proudest moments were serving in the U.S. Army, the birth of his daughter, Lacey Jean, and later meeting the love of his life Bettie. He and Bettie married in 2001 and later made their home in Zion Hill.
Mike is survived by his wife, Bettie; his daughter, Lacey Ozan; three sisters, Debbie Rowley and John, Nelda Vann and Bubba, Melba Fowler; his two brothers Tommy Sandoval and Cissy, Randy Sandoval and JoAnn; two step-sons George Haley and Cheryl, and David Haley and Patty; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren who affectionately called him Papa; and his sweet little dog, named Squirt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.E. Ozan, Velmarie and Jesse Sandoval; sister, Edith Whitton; two nieces, Brandy and Carrie Carnline and one grandson.
Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper.
