Obituary of Mary Risenhoover DeRorre August 26, 1952 - January 31, 2025

A Celebration of Mary Risenhoover DeRorre’s Life, age 72, of Jasper, Texas, will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 7, 2025 at Old Magnolia Cemetery in Holly Springs, Texas. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Stringer and Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper, Texas.

Mary was born August 26, 1952, and she passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Jasper. She was a member of Roganville Baptist Church. Mary loved sewing and loved animals. She enjoyed volunteering at the Jasper Humane Society, but her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren.

Mary is survived by two daughters, Chantelle Hamilton and husband John of Huntington, Texas, and Kristen Nikodem of Jasper, Texas; two sisters, Emma Jones and husband Kenneth of Andrews, Texas and Roberta Lynch of Port Arthur, Texas; and four grandchildren, Emily Hollandsworth and husband Bryant, Erin Hamilton, Ella Hamilton and Olivia Hornsby.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carmel Risenhoover and Viola Simpson Risenhoover; husband of 38 years, Thomas Joseph DeRorre; three sisters, Cynthia, Carmolene, and Rosie; and two brothers, Gary and C. C. Risenhoover.
