Obituary of Lloyd "Mike" Kay July 16, 1944 - January 6, 2025

Lloyd “Mike” Kay, 80, of Woodville, passed away Monday, January 6, 2025 at his home in Woodville, Texas.


A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.


Mike was born July 16, 1944 to Lloyd Lyman and Marionette Barnes Kay in Holdenville, Oklahoma. A native of Oklahoma and a former resident of Wyoming, New Mexico and Kerrville, Texas. He had worked in the oil and gas pipeline industry as a radiographer/inspector for many years and moved to various states as the work required. He retired as a supervisor with H & G Inspections. He had lived in Woodville for the past 5 years. He and Marie enjoyed raising quarter horses and paints. He was a member of Center Point Baptist Church in Center Point, Texas.


He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd L. Kay; mother, Marionette Sunny; stepfather, George Sunny; sister, Linda McCormack; grandson, Mitchell Kay; and daughter, Shelly Whited.


He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Marie Kay of Woodville; sons, Tim Kay and Travis Kay both of Aurora MO, and Sean Wells Kay of Woodville; daughter, Beverly Oberhoff and husband Alan of Richmond; brother, Doug Kay of Utah; sister, Regina Patrick and husband Bill of El Reno, OK; grandchildren, Allie Taylor of Aurora, MO, Alan Oberhoff, Jr., Dillan Oberhoff, and Coleman Oberhoff all of Richmond; 5 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.


Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Woodville.
