Obituary of James F. Holt February 1, 1938 - January 12, 2024

James Franklin Holt, 86, of Woodville, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025 in Woodville, Texas.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

James was born February 1, 1938 to Garland W. and Effie Lee Tucker Holt in Seymour, Texas. His life was spent in service to public education as a teacher, coach, principal and superintendent. He was devoted to his entire family and served as a role model to many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Garland and Effie Holt; sisters, Glenna Ayres and Gennie Stegall; brother G.W. Holt; grandchildren, Paige Vincent and Frankie Baker.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Evelyn Holt of Woodville; daughters, Bobbie Lopez-Rogina and husband Alex of Woodville, Gem White and husband James of Woodville, and Shawn Lopez-Rogina and husband Charlie of Pueblo, CO; brothers, Bill Holt of Burleson, and Larry Holt of Terrell; sisters, Margie Sampley of Royse City, and Jerry Ellison of Justin; grandchildren, Alex Lopez-Rogina, Andi Carder, Danni Lopez-Rogina, and Riley Lopez-Rogina; great grandchildren, Collete Vincent, Holt Carder, and Ruby Rae Carder; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Woodville.
