Obituary of Gerald Lee Miller March 4, 1936 - March 13, 2025

Graveside services to celebrate the life of Gerald Lee Miller, age 89, of Jasper, Texas will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 24, 2025, at West Oaks Cemetery in Jasper, Texas.

Gerald passed away on March 13, 2025 at Harbor Hospice in Jasper, Texas.

Gerald was a native of Brookeland, Texas and a longtime resident of Jasper, Texas. He married the love of his life, Joyce Elaine Clerc Miller on October 10, 1959 in San Augustine, Texas. He retired as a welder for Temple Inland after 38 years of service. He was also involved with the land clearing and dirt work provided for the creation of the Sam Rayburn Reservoir. Gerald was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and camping.

He is survived by sons, Kenneth Miller of The Woodlands, Texas and Chad Miller of Lumberton, Texas; daughter, Regina Ross and husband Murphy of Jasper, Texas; sister, Estelle Leary of The Woodlands, Texas; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Joyce Elaine Miller; parents, Homer and Myrtie Davis Miller; brother, Otis Powell and sister, Ivy Jean Garcia.

Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper.
