Zillges, and Jameson Istre; She is also survived

Fro is reunited with her husband of 52 years, Joe Banner, and son Joey Banner; Parents Arthur and Grace Brantley; Brothers WJ, Joe Reese, Arthur, Lavell, Louis, and Carl; Sisters Emma Jean Desadier, Maude Rogers, and Glenda Johansson. Fro was born in Lillie, LA and grew up in Kilgore, TX and Southeast Louisiana.

She met Joe in 1950, and they started their family in Kilgore, TX. After moving to Odessa and Midland, “Joe Boy” and his “Fro Baby” transferred to Attica, KS where they lived for 10 years while Joe continued his career with Magnolia Oil Company. In 1966, the family moved to Nederland where Joe worked for Mobil Chemical Company. They lived in Nederland until 1973 before moving to their farm in Kirbyville, TX. In Kirbyville, Fro took an active role in the Historical Society, was a devoted member of The United Methodist Church, and pursued her love for antiques. Some of her greatest joys came from spending time with her family, often cooking big Sunday lunches or watching grandchildren participate in their many activities.

Fro had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and a love of nature. She often spent her spare time reading books or working in her flower beds and garden. She had a passion for antiques and loved finding treasures. She even had an antique shop for many years. She and Joe loved traveling to new places and meeting new people. She was an excellent baker and made one of the best pecan pies you’ve ever tasted. She loved watching people enjoy what she had created in her kitchen, especially her much requested chicken fried steak. She also loved good conversation over a cup of coffee.

Fro lived her life with grace, courage, and a heart of gold. Her family finds comfort knowing that she is rejoicing in heaven with those she loved.

Special thanks to our beloved long-time friends and helpers: Jonnie Call, Ramona Holland and Tina Williams.
