Obituary of Edith Marie Jenkins July 26, 1945 - February 3, 2025

Edith Marie Jenkins, 79, of Woodville, passed away February 3, 2025 in Lufkin, Texas.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

Edith was born July 26, 1945 to Johnny S. and Gladys Simmons Smith in Beaumont, Texas. A former resident of Kountze, she was a longtime resident of Woodville. Edith was a graduate of the old Kirby High School in Woodville. She often said that being a homemaker was her dream job, as she could cook and sew like no other. She loved her family. Edith was a member of Nedville Missionary Baptist Church in Jasper, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Gladys Smith; and husband of 57 years, Elbert Lloyd Jenkins, Sr.

She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Klevenski of Huntsville, and Jo Ellen Barton and husband Timothy of Lufkin; son, Elbert “Lloyd” Jenkins, Jr. and wife Shauna of Willis; sister, Johnnie Mae Armstrong of Woodville; brother, Leroy Smith and wife Mary Ellen of Huntington; grandchildren, Kalan, Madison, Zachary, Megan, Emily, and Logan; and great grandson, Hudson.

Memorials may be made to charity of choice.
