Obituary of Dottie Pauline Reider September 17, 1930-November 18, 2024

Dottie Pauline Reider, 94, of Woodville, Texas went home to be with Jesus on November 18, 2024 at Woodland Heights Hospital in Lufkin, Texas.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 23, 2024 beginning at 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. graveside service all at Beech Creek Cemetery in Spurger. Officiating will be Brother Rusty West.

Dottie was born September 17, 1930 to George Kozum and Laura Frances “Fannie” Jordan Mott in Spurger, Texas. She attended school and earned her GED, after getting married. She was a great homemaker and also worked part time as an aide at Tyler County Hospital.

She was a member of the Eastern Star, and also a member of Hillister Assembly of God Church in Hillister, Texas. Dottie loved to travel with her husband, R.Q. very much. She had been to Canada, Alaska, Minnesota, all over Texas, and many other places. She also loved to travel with her 4 sisters. I remember her telling us how they always looked after each other and was always there for each other, good and bad. She loved to garden and be outside all day when possible. She loved gardening the most with her granddaughter Jayden, when she was little. Many pictures of them digging in the dirt and dirty from head to toe. She was very proud of her and loved her. She also loved to crochet and make many blankets and hats for babies at the hospital. I remember her telling a story of how her granddaughter Jayden wanted to learn to crochet when she was little, asking her to teach her. When she started to show her and realized her granddaughter was lefthanded, and she was righthanded, she said, I don’t think this will work. LOL She will be missed greatly by family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Fannie Mott; husband, R.Q. Reider; sons, Richard Reider and Randy Reider; brothers, Kozum Earl Mott and Roy Irvin Mott; and sisters, Laura Belle Mott, Willie Faye Collier, Irene Hofstetter, Muriel Wilson and Ruth Powell.

She is survived by her son, Troy Reider and wife Sandy of Woodville; granddaughter, Jayden Diane Reider and fiancé Blake Matus of College Station; brothers, Marvin Mott and Jimmie Mott both of Spurger; sister, Alvina Means of Spurger; sister-in-law, Ruby Hext of Woodville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Woodville, Texas.
